Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University was envisioned by Dr. Atul Krishna, a well known surgeon in western Uttar Pradesh. The University was named after the philosopher and spiritual leader, Shri Swami Vivekanand Ji, and set up with the aim of enlightening the future of the state through education. The University initiated various institutions with a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level courses. Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is situated amidst serene and pollution-free locales on the outskirts of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh.
Educational Streams
The University has 14 institutions offering a wide spectrum of academic programmes in the fields of Medical, Dental, Paramedical, Engineering, Management, Law, Journalism, Education, Art and Sciences, Pharmacy, Fashion Designing. The programmes so offered are well researched and conducted at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels through highly qualified and proficient teaching faculty.
Facilities
The University offers all requisite facilities necessary for carrying out the study programmes. Well equipped laboratories, spacious classrooms with audio visual facility and super-specialty hospital with modern medical facilities are some basic amenities offered. The University also offers accommodation for both girls and boys through its well furnished hostels. Also, a large central library is housed within the campus, with a collection of more than 51,000 books and 385 journals.
History
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is an outcome of Atul Bhatnagar’s selfless efforts when he initiated Baccha Party in 1960 with the aim of celebrating national holidays, which later transformed into Yuva Uthan Samiti. With time, Yuva Uthan Samiti was upgraded to Subharti Seva Sanstha. In the year 1974, the organization took the form of a social service Non-Government Organization and has been serving the society since then. Later in the year 1991, Subharti Krishna Kumar Bhatnagar Charitable Trust was founded by Subharti Seva Sanstha which is privileged with establishing various institutions across the western region of Uttar Pradesh. The University was founded under the aegis of Subharti Krishna Kumar Bhatnagar Charitable Trust in the year 2008 under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956.
