Santosh University

Started initially as two separate colleges - Santosh Medical College and Santosh Medical College in the year 1995, Santosh University gained the Deemed University status under the act of University Grants Commission (UGC). The University is also notified by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. To enlist itself in the forefront among very few medical universities in India, the University currently provides the best of medical programmes at undergraduate and post graduate levels.

 

Educational Streams

Being awarded with the Deemed University status, Santosh University conducts various undergraduate, post graduate and diploma programmes. The degrees and diplomas offered by the University have been approved by Medical Council of India (MCI). The course structure and content is set according to the guidelines prescribed by MCI. Along with basic courses in medical science and basic medical science courses, it also conducts degree and diploma courses in several clinical subjects, including General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, TB & Chest, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology and Ophthalmology through lectures, demonstrations and clinical postings. It is committed towards imparting excellent medical and dental education, health care and advanced research programmes.

History

Maharaji Educational Trust, a registered society under Indian Trust Act in Chennai, was founded in the year 1993 with the selfless and untiring efforts of Dr. P. Mahalingam. He was the main soul behind the establishment of two separate colleges, namely, Santosh Medical College and Santosh Dental College, both situated in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh in 1995. In the year 2007, both colleges were constituted together to form a University and was declared as a Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
