Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology
Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology (NDUAT) was established as the third agricultural university of the state in the year 1974. Named after the great national leader, educationist, philosopher and great socialist, Acharya Nartendra Deo, the University has craved a niche for itself in the national and international scenario through high academic standards, research achievements and effective transformation of technology. Through its several constituent colleges, it caters the needs of development in the field of agriculture and its related fields which will suit the condition best according to the farmers of eastern Uttar Pradesh and solve their existing problems. NDUAT had developed various high-yielding crop varieties.
The University was established to offer several undergraduate and post graduate programmes under the jurisdiction of the university in the field of agriculture, agricultural engineering, fisheries, home science, horticulture, forestry and veterinary science and animal husbandry. For effective teaching and research in these fields, the University has created six constituent colleges, namely, College of Agriculture, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, College of Home Science, Mahamaya College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, College of Horticulture & Fisheries, and College of Fisheries. It also provides eligible candidates enough research opportunities in the context of invention and development in the said fields.
From its very inception, the University adopted a very progressive policy and extended activities, thus providing ample scope and opportunities for the overall development of personality and leadership qualities among students. Spread over acres of sprawling lush greenery, it offers an absolute academic and residential campus, equipped with all possible facilities. The University also emphasizes on several students' welfare activities through all its constituent colleges. Besides, it provides modern educational infrastructure and facilities like internationally acclaimed study curriculum, boarding, entertainment and physical opportunities through sports and games, along with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Founded by the then Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, on January 15, 1974, Narendra Dev University of Agriculture & Technology is a leading agro-technology university in India. Started initially at Mashodha near Faizabad city in Uttar Pradesh, the campus was later shifted to Kumarganj, Faizabad in 1975 with the generous efforts of the Government of UP. Thereafter in 1977, the University got the approval to start 20 departments in its constituent colleges.
