Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University

Set up in 1975 as an affiliating university at one of the fastest growing towns of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, MJP Rohilkhand is one of the esteemed universities in the region. In 1987, it was upgraded to an affiliating-cum-residential university with the introduction of four teaching departments. Since its very inception, it has achieved tremendous growth through quantitative expansion and qualitative improvements in various academic disciplines. Spread over eight districts, the University offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate study programmes in distinguished departments.

 

Educational Streams

Since its inception, MJP Rohilkhand University has grown into a large hub of education with 21 academic departments, 17 Government colleges, 29 Government funded affiliated colleges, and 108 self financing colleges. Its jurisdiction is extended over the districts of Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnore, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Budaun, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur. It offers a large number of courses in Engineering, Management, Education, Law, Pharmacy and other professional courses. Currently, it conducts 36 post graduates, 15 undergraduate, nine diplomas, 20 post graduate diploma, two M Phil and 34 doctoral programmes within a well maintained academic environment. The core programmes imparted, here, mainly belong to post graduate level whereas professional, technical, and vocational belong to undergraduate level. Master degree programmes are conducted in the areas of Ancient History & Culture, Applied and Regional Economics, Plant Science, Animal Science, Education, Law and Business Administration while bachelor degree programmes are offered in six branches of technology, specialized education, pharmacy etc.

 

Facilities

As a storehouse of universal knowledge, the University facilitates world-class curricular and extra-curricular activities for the students throughout the year. These have been designed to possess a different architectural style which ensures and motivates aspiring students to enrich their education with high level activities outside rigorous lectures. The University inculcates extraordinary value system with pragmatic approach to science & technology and other areas of studies. Located within a serene campus area, the University houses infrastructural amenities like central library, computer centre, workshop, primary health centre, sports facilities including indoor stadium, track field etc. for outdoor games inter-alia. In addition, it emphasizes on using electronic gadgets for imparting instructions in classrooms, laboratories and workshops.
