Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is the youngest central universities of Indiaand located on the outskirts of the capital district Lucknow, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The University was started with the aim of inculcating valuable knowledge into the young aspirants of the region so as to transform them into qualified individuals. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is central and residential in nature. It offers high standard quality education in the fields of science, technology and management through its distinguished schools and departments.

Educational Streams

The University offers postgraduate, postgraduate diploma and doctorate level non-traditional programmes according to the guidelines of University Grants Commission (UGC). Well experienced teaching faculty has been appointed by the University to retain the standard of education. It basically offers courses in the disciplines of science and technology and is known for its extensive approach towards modern science subjects, such as applied animal and plant science.

Facilities

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is blended with state-of-the-art amenities and boasts of an elegant campus spreading across vast area. Residential facilities in the University’s premises are available for the benefit of out-station students. Also, it has a well furnished boys hostel with 120 spacious rooms. To boost up the knowledge and learning abilities of the students, the University has a central library with a collection of around 8500 books, magazines, journals and numerous other publications. Banking and postal services are available for both students and staff in the University campus. Besides, the University also has indoor and outdoor sports and medical facilities.

History

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University was started by an act of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Act 1994 in the year 1997. Being amongst the youngest universities of the nation, it is still in the growing years but emphasizes on delivering quality and excellence in academics. The University was set up to cater the needs of non-traditional education, particularly the increasing demands of applied science and technology.
