Lucknow Christian Degree College
Lucknow Christian Degree College, one of the oldest colleges of Lucknow, was founded as a small school in Husainabad, in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. In 1882, it was upgraded to a High school. Later in 1877 and 1888, the establishment of Centennial School and Red Christian Intermediate College respectively, opened doors for Lucknow Christian College. Eventually in 1889, the intermediate college started degree courses in various Arts and Science subjects.
The college was initially affiliated to University of Calcutta until 1921 and after the formation of Lucknow University in 1922, the college fell under the association Lucknow University. As such, degree classes were transferred to Canning College of Lucknow University. Finally, in 1946 & 1956, Lucknow Christian Degree College introduced B Sc and BA programmes, respectively, and in 1973, it launched B Com course. Several post graduate degree programmes were started in 1995. The college also offers UGC sponsored vocational courses in Computer Applications for B Sc students and Advertisement, Sales Promotion and Sales Management for B Com students.Affiliated to: Lucknow University

Admission Procedure and Eligibility:Undergraduate:
BA / B Com / B Sc: Students who have completed 10+2 or its equivalent in any subject from a recognized Board can apply for BA courses. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for B Sc courses offered here. Those who have completed the same with Commerce or with Arts subject like Economics or Science subject like Mathematics can apply for B Com course. B P Ed: Candidates who have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (BPE) or Physical Education as a main subject with minimum 40% marks can apply for B P Ed programme. In addition, candidates who have pursued graduation in any subject and have represented State / University in sports / games / athletics can apply for the programme. In addition, graduates who have represented their institutions in inter-collegiate sports / games tournament or passed basic course in Adventure Sports or obtained NCC ‘C’ Certificate are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have pursued B Sc in Chemistry with minimum 50% marks can apply for M Sc in Chemistry. Similarly, those who have completed graduation in any subject with minimum 45 marks are eligible for MA in English. Those who have pursued B Com with minimum 50% marks can apply for M Com programme.
